Updates......

WOW, It's been a while since I've posted stuff.....a combination of being really busy at work, and getting behind on a lot of other things all at the same time. :) I'm back......and getting ready to head off to Vegas......so before you're flooded with a bunch of pictures (probably of stuff you don't really care about), I thought that I would throw out a post or two here with some recent stuff on it.

Although Dan was supposed to work on Mother's Day, he was able to switch shifts with someone, and was able to be home with us that day. We had our families (both of our parents, and my sister and her family) down for steaks on the grill, and some cornhole in the back yard with our Dad's. Everything was going beautifully as planned, until I went to stir the potatoes. They weren't even started to be cooked......the oven was stone cold. Sweet. Our oven is broken. (Mind you, the oven has probably been around since the house was built in the 70's, so we're not complaining, nor too upset about the oven breaking, but the potatoes weren't cooked.) I ended up putting the potatoes in the microwave, and when I went to stir them, I uncovered the saran wrap from the top, and got a horrifying steam burn on my left thumb, right at the base of my fingernail. If you've never had a steam burn, you wouldn't know that they are PAINFUL. It blistered up, and I could NOT get the burn feeling to go away. I finally ended up with some aloe on it, and a band aid, and the blister popped just a few days ago, so it's healing nicely now. But, it hurt REALLY bad at the time, and I was indeed a baby about it. :)

Very cute story, about Olivia, though...... She likes to sit on people's laps while they eat, and eat off of your plate. She doesn't really care too much about having her own plate, as she really enjoys eating off of everyone else's. Of course, she wanted to sit on my lap. :) (I say that, which is only half true, because about 10 minutes into dinner, she, of course, preferred Dan, and retreated to his lap instead.) My mom had brought me a small juice glass of ice water, to put my thumb in, which was still on fire. I was talking and not really paying much attention to what Olivia was doing, until I heard her saying, "MOM! I burned my finger, and my thumb has an owie." She was sitting on my lap, with her hand positioned EXACTLY like mine was, with her thumb in her glass of water, too. TOO FUNNY. Of course, we all played along. It was a blast listening to her sing songs for us that afternoon, and play "keep away" with Papaw. :) She's going to be all grown up before we know it.

It wasn't until everyone was about to leave for the day that I remembered that I hadn't taken any pictures......so, then ones that I have are very limited.....but here is a few of them:

She wanted to "play paints".....so Uncle Danny got a t-shirt of his, and put it on her. It came down to her ankles, and he tied it up in back with a hair tie, and she proceeded to paint us some masterpieces right at our kitchen table. :)
More to come.... :)
