The Oaken Bucket

Everyone has been bugging us to go tailgating all Purdue season. We've always either had a conflict, or a good excuse not to go. But, we got cornered early in the year and committed to the IU/PU game this past weekend. Of course, it was the last game, so we couldn't use the excuse "We'll come next time!" anymore......and it was the coldest day of the year! WOW! It was bitter.

Baker and Leslie stayed the night at our house the evening before, and they LITERALLY were up at 6:00 to go to the intramural field early. Uuuuhhhhhhh, NO THANKS! We got there around 9:00. Brent had made some chili soup, and Dan and I stopped on the way to pick up coffee (appropriately mixed with Bailey's), so we did have something to keep us warm. We didn't need a cooler to keep the beer cold, though. It did fine on its own. :)

We didn't go to the game, but we did listen to it on the radio while we were on our way to Logansport to pick up Trevor. :) The result was astounding! Purdue won the game 62-10, on Joe Tiller's last game at Ross Ade. Bittersweet ending to a horrible season. :)

Here's some pictures.

Mark and Brent. They look a little chilled.

Leslie, Ryan and I. (Yep, that's right, even though I was cold, I was still drinking a beer!)
Gretchen, Leslie and Jamie......three of my favorite people!

Dan and I. He looks half asleep.
And even MORE asleep in THIS picture of him and Leslie. Isn't he adorable?

My Best Friend Baker. Awww..... :)

The Kiddos

Olivia and Gage are getting so big......and starting to develop such profound personalities. :) WOW! Olivia has started to develop such a fun personality, and talks constantly. She comes up with some pretty funny stuff, and I enjoy teaching her new things. (Not sure her mom enjoys it as much as I do, but it's still fun, regardless.) She will be 2 tomorrow. Stay tuned for pictures from her birthday party this past weekend. Seems like the past 2 years have just flown by, and before I know it, I'll be blogging about her high school graduation.

And Gage is catching up with her quickly. Well, as far as weight is concerned. Olivia weighs about 26 pounds, and her 2 month old brother is quickly closing in on the gap at about 16 pounds. :) He laughs and giggles all the time, and before long, will be doing the funny stuff that Olivia does........

Aren't nieces and nephews the greatest? Here's some recent pictures!! :)

"Helping" Mommy. She loves to do this. She'll even change Gage's diaper sometimes! :) (Not sure it's the best job possible, but her efforts do not go unnoticed. :) Ha!)

Happy baby!!!

Our little Colts Fan! :) Yay!

Yes, folks. That's cereal. The boy has been eating cereal since he was about 4 weeks old.

Chubby baby. He's got a little muffin top goin' on over the top of that diaper, there. :) So cute!

Tail.....

Ever wonder what it looks like when a dog loses its tail? Check out below. That's the real deal.

Colts vs. Texans

As part of the package of tickets that we bought to Colts games, we had tickets to the Colts vs. Texans game last weekend at Lucas Oil. Dan took Trevor, and Rick went with Eddie. It was a good thing for the 4 of them to do together, as a "Dad/Son, Uncle/Cousin" thing.......They had a really good time, although the seats weren't nearly as good as they were for the Bears game! :) The game ended up in the Colts favor, thankfully.......

Dan and Trevor

Rick gets a little overexcited about the games. He definitely amused those that they were with. :-) They all enjoyed his passion for being a "fan", and his enjoyment of beer.

See, he can even do "the wave" and drink a beer at the SAME TIME! Wow!

Rick and Eddie

The future Mr. and Mrs. Baker. Just a few more days, guys! :)

Bachelorette Fun!

Baker and Leslie's wedding is quickly approaching! Last weekend, the ladies went out for one last night out with just the girls, celebrating the days of "LESLIE BEDROCK", in anticipation for "LESLIE BAKER", which will happen November 29th.

We started out at the Lafayette Brew Co., where I enjoyed WAY too much food, although particularly their Fish and Chips, which are amazing! From there, we headed down to the Cactus for the traditional visit to the piano bar. Leslie was put in the spotlight and forced to stand on her chair during one of Bruce's signature songs, "Nymphomaniac". Jamie and I also got in "trouble" for talking (imagine that!) during "Crazy Bitch", where we were promptly scolded and asked to stand on our chairs and sing by ourselves. We obliged, and although our singing wasn't all that great, we did get the party side back to our side. :-)

Headed up the hill to Leslie's favorite place of all time, Harry's. I drank one green dragon (too many of those gets me into trouble), and called my sweetie to come pick me up, which, as always, he lovingly did. I'm pretty lucky......

Here's some pictures from the night below.....

The beautiful bride to be.

The whole group. Leslie, Me, Jamie, Stephanie, Amy, Andrea, Carrie and Gretchen.

Jamie and Leslie

Jamie loves bachelorette parties. Leslie specifically instructed that she did NOT want to don any attire that resembled a penis. However, we did get her to wear the lei around her neck....and Jamie, although not the bachelorette, happily sported the matching bracelet.

Leslie and I. Fun night! Thanks for all the laughs, girls!

I'll watch from home.....

These are actual seats in the new Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy. People PAY for those seats. Now, if you purchased a ticket to the game at $100+ dollars, wouldn't you be SO PISSED if you got up there, and that was your seat? OMG.....

Trick Or Treat!!!

So we intentionally planned to be gone on Halloween night, as there are zillions of kids on South Street in Brookston who all like candy. We'd go broke trying to give all of their sweet tooths a fix. :) BUT, we did be sure to be home when my sister brought the kiddos over.
Olivia called me before coming over for trick-or-treat and said, "Titi, I'm coming to your house as a kitty cat. Now, don't be SCARED!" It was sooo cute. So, I knew prior to her arrival what her costume would depict. However, I didn't expect her to be this cute:
Gage was a puppy dog, Olivia says. Personally, I thought he looked like a cow, but regardless of what he was, he was cute! :-)

We took this picture at least 5 times, she wouldn't stand still, or smile. :) This was the best we could get.

MEOW!

The whole Thomas Family. My sister, Elizabeth, brother in law, Brent, and their beautiful kids, Olivia and Gage.

Baby Gage......too cute!! :-)
