Haircut!!!

In case you didn't know, Dan cuts his own hair. I've always been REALLY impressed with it. He stands in front of the mirror, clippers in one hand, and a mirror in the other, and a comb in his mouth, and cuts his hair! It's pretty impressive, really. :) He always does a really good job, and aside from a few goof ups here and there, you wouldn't even know he cuts it himself.

We're always trying to get Trevor to cut his hair. He likes to wear it long.....and well, we just don't really like it. Although, we have never MADE him cut it. While he was here for Spring Break, he actually ASKED Dan if he would cut his hair. Now, for any of you who know Trevor, you would know that he has the THICKEST hair you can imagine. It took FOREVER! Seriously, I would bet that it took about an hour to cut it all and get it short. :) But he has short hair, he likes it, and it looks great. Although, now, we have dull clippers, but that's okay. Price you pay, I guess. Here's some pictures:

Yes, Dan is in his bathrobe, and yes, that is the vacuum behind him.

Work in progress. (See? Doesn't Dan's hair look good?)

The mess. :)

Boiler Up!

Or not.....
We went to the EndZone to watch Purdue play UConn last week.....and were sadly disappointed. Dan and I have this competition going for our brackets. Unfortunately, neither of us are doing well at it......I'm not even sure who is winning, to be honest. :) Here's some pictures from the night!

Best Friends......Myself, Dan and Marcus

Not sure what they're doing here.....biting their nails? ?? Hmm.... (Mark and Dan)
We took this picture about 400 times to get a good one.....and this was the best that we got. Nice smile, babe!
Rick and Rhona.....Rick was also being less than cooperative for this photo.

The guys....Dan, Larry, Mark, Rick and Anthony
Marcus, Rick and Larry!

A long year.....

A long year is finally over for us.... :) We had a celebration.... :) Here are some pictures from the night, although, they're a little late....it was over three weeks ago! Where on earth does the time go??? :)

Matt, Beth, Megan, Marcus, Becky and Mark. (That sure is a lotta "M" names!)

Megan and Ricky

Marcus....smiling like always!

We were all smiling for the camera, and Dan was leaning in for a kiss.... :)

My cousin Deborah and I
Had a blast. Although the keg didn't get emptied on Friday night, we had a little help from Marcus, Rick, Matt and Beth, and it was definitely gone on Sunday night!

Definitely a couple of camera hams.....

There is never a dull moment where these two are concerned..... :) They're definitely a couple of camera hams. :) And I have to admit, they're pretty CUTE camera hams! I'll keep 'em!

P.S. Notice Trev's new haircut? Compliments of his dad. :) I have some pictures of that, too....am a little behind on the downloading. Pretty funny stuff!!

A funny for your hump day morning......

I am never ceased to be amazed by idiots...... So, I thought I would share this video I ran across this morning.... :) Happy Wednesday!

Trevor is driving!!!

Trevor turned 14 on January 12. He's been dying to learn to drive. It's a tad bit early, I know, but I do remember my Grandpa Hinkle (mom's dad) letting my sister and I drive his old grey Pontiac 6000 around the country roads by their house when we were much younger than 14. (Well, maybe not "much" younger.....like 12, perhaps!)

Anyway, a while back, it was just the two of us in the car, and we were going to Wade and Deborah's house from my parents, which is all country roads. I took a leap of faith and allowed Trevor to drive my car (it was when I still had the Orange Grand Prix). He was a pretty good driver. Granted, we didn't come to any cars in the road that he would have to pass, but he still did fine. He was really nervous, and often had a terrified look on his face. (I'm not sure what on earth MY face looked like.) But we made it, and there were no damages to the car, and no bodily harm to either of us. He's been begging to drive ever since. Dan keeps telling him "no". I think reality set in with Dan that I was now the "Cool parent" (step-parent) who lets him "DRIVE", when his Dad wouldn't. Ha!

So, Dan took him out today and let him drive the Jeep around the country. This is the photo that I got..... :) I wish I had a picture of Dan's face! :) Ha! Watch out, Cass County. He'll be on the road with a permit in less than a year, and with a LICENSE in less than TWO!! WOAH!

Fore!

Dan and Rick took the boys (Trevor and Eddie) golfing this past weekend at Deer Track Golf Course in Frankfort. I think that they had a great time, but the golf game was a little slower than what they had anticipated.......six hours!!! :) The weather was beautiful, and they did indeed have fun! I'm looking forward to getting out on the course sometime soon!

Freeney is no longer a man.......

Freeney has been getting a little on the wild side lately, and starting to act like a Tom cat. He has been biting people (ie: Marcus, Beth, Dan and I, my niece, etc.) and howling and growling. He wants to run outside all the time, too. We were afraid that he was going to start peeing on everything in the house. So, Dan took him to the clinic with him last night. This is a picture of him in his cage. That is my black and grey sweater that is laying there with him. He loves to lay on and smell my clothes, so Dan thought he would take something along with him that would remind him of "mom". Later in the evening, I got the following email with photo attached:

Dad,

Can you put those back, please? I'll be good, I promise!!!!

Love,
Freeney

Well....that's it. He's no longer a man. He's an "it". :) And yes, I do agree that it's a bit morbid and gross that Dan would take a photograph of our cat, half sedated and crying, laying next to and looking at his own testicles laying on a piece of cotton. However, I was so inclined to share. :)

Farewell, Army Guys!!

Okay, so this post is a little late.....but.....I wanted to share the photos anyway. A few of our dear friends are being deployed overseas sometime this spring. We all got together for one last hurrah at Lafayette Brew Co. and the Cactus to big them farewell. Although a bittersweet occasion, everyone had a great time.

To all of you, we appreciate what you do, so that we are protected. We are proud to call you our friends. Dan having been there at one point in his life, holds service to our country as one of the most respectable things ever. We will miss you dearly, and love you always. Don't worry, we'll take good care of your wives while you're gone, as it's going to be harder on them than anyone.

Dan and I at the Lafayette Brew Co.

Ryan and Leslie at the Lafayette Brew Co. We're going to miss you, Baker!

Elizabeth and Dan. She pretends to not like him, but deep down, I think she does. :)

CHEESE! Elizabeth, Baker and Brent at the Cactus.

Myself, Leslie and Elizabeth

Dan and Elizabeth. Later on in the night. She's not looking so swell.....

Such a cute couple. Derek and Gretchen. We will also miss YOU, Derek!

MUAH! Baby......

Chad and Elizabeth dancing at the Cactus.

OK, this is gross. I know. Dan couldn't resist. These people were sitting right behind us in the piano bar. The entire night, he had his hand down her pants. Just like that. I'm not sure why. Maybe he was trying to cover up the 6 inches of asscrack that she had hanging out the entire night. Rather disgusting, actually. I think she should consider some jeans with a little bit of a higher rise in the back. Yuck.

Jamie and Jennifer. In trouble, having to stand on their chairs and sing.

Thanks for your prayers, everyone!

My nephew, Gage, is 5 months old. Since his birth, he has been having respiratory issues. They took him to a specialist in Indianapolis, and he had surgery this morning at Riley Children's Hospital. He got along just fine, and is doing well. He will probably stay overnight, and be released in the morning.

Thanks to all of our friends and church family that has prayed for Gage during this time, and for everyone who has been thinking of Brent and Elizabeth and their family. It is much appreciated, and there IS power in prayer. Thanks again!

This is an excerpt from an email that I got from my sister a little while ago, updating us on Gage:

For those of you who didnt know, Gage is at Riley today having his adenoids out. All his respiratory problems have been b/c his adenoids are so big they're blocking his airway. While they were in there, they also took a look at his ears and ended up putting tubes in b/c it had "rubber cement-like" fluid in there. Gage is doing ok. He was doing great and they were going to turn off his IV but literally just as she walked in the room to do it, he refluxed about 9 oz all over me. So obviously he is now not as hydrated as he was and we have to keep the IV longer. We're likely going to be spending the night here. As long as he gets his pain meds, he's doing ok, just really tired and kind of cranky. He and Daddy are asleep in the chair right now and hopefully they get a long nap in. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, we really appreciate them.
Thanks again, everyone! xoxo

Weird Case of the Week.....

Sarah just recently asked if I had ever worked on these.....and the answer to that is HELL NO! I got to work yesterday, and this bat had been euthanized by my co-worker, for rabies testing, due to having bitten a child. Otherwise, had it not been already dead, I would have NOT been caught touching it!
By the way, it is a bat. :)

Go Texans Day!

I got this picture of Lauren in her "Go Texan Day" outfit.....so cute! :)

The Baker's are Parents!!!

Here is Dan with the newest addition to the Baker family. Murphy Baker! :)
